1. Do I need to send any food or drinks with my son?
--Lunch is provided at no cost by The Hockaday School and a refreshment stand is available for sports drinks and snacks. Water is also available at no cost.
2. Where do I drop off and pick up my son everyday?
--Once you enter The Hockaday School by the Big D Banner you follow this road to the back of the school. The road will lead to a parking lot near the track where you can drop your child off.
3. My son has never played lacrosse before. Is this camp for him and what should he do to prepare himself?
--This camp is definitely for him. We have small, semi-private Beginner Sessions for those kids who have never played the game of lacrosse before. One thing that could tremendously help your son is to have him start throwing a ball against the wall and catching it. Once your son can basically throw and catch, he will be on a fast track to the next level and will have a great time!!!!
4. What does my son need to bring with him everyday?
-- Players are responsible for bringing cleats, helmet, gloves, shoulder pads, cups, elbow pads, any body protection, sticks, and most importantly mouth pieces!!!
5. What does my son need to wear everyday?
--The camp will provide a pair of shorts and a reversible jersey to be worn on the lacrosse fields.
6. What if my son doesn't know what position to play?
-- No problem. If he is a beginner, he will start out as a "short" stick. We will make sure your child plays all the positions to see which one he likes the best and we can go from there.
7. Will there be a place for the campers to get out of the sun and cool down during the day?
-- Yes. There will be plenty of water around the fields and we will take water breaks under the shade of the trees to prevent any danger of dehydration in the hot Texas summer. Also, the boys will be allowed to take a 1/2 hour swim in the Hockaday pools.
8. What is the cancellation policy of the camp?
-- There is a $200 non-refundable fee if you decide to cancel.
9. Is there a discount if I send more than one child to the camp?
-- Yes. If you send more than one child to camp you can deduct $50 from the second child's fee. On the third child you may subtract another $75 from the third child's fee.
10. Is there a discount if I want to send my child to more than one of your summer camps in 2008?
-- Yes. If you send your child to both of our camps this summer you can subtract $50 from each camp fee.
11. What happens if my son is injured at the camp?
--There will be a certified trainer at the site at all times in case of injuries incurred on the field. All players will be covered by a camp insurance policy in case of any serious injury.
